Dixie "Dick" M. Ware

Dick died on February 19, 2021. Born June 10, 1927 to Dixie Harlan and Alice Mary Ware in Valley Head, West Virginia.

Dick was honorably discharged from the Army Air Corp in 1947 where he attended Cook and Baker School. He worked for Hough Bakery and Catering for 35 years.  He received Christ as his Savior when he was 27 years old.   Dick enjoyed helping neighbors, friends and the church with yardwork and other maintenance.  He loved to visit people.  He enjoyed Gospel music, cleaning, and his family. He was a member of Southeast Church of the Nazarene.  He was best known for his pineapple pie.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Ella; his parents; sisters, Nelly, Elva McAtee, Reta Swecker and brothers, Delbert, Grady, Paul, Darley, and Jerry.

Dick is survived by his daughter, Nancy and many wonderful nieces, nephews and “adopted” grandchildren.

Calling hours are Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 4-7 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Memorial Service will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 at Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 771 Dunbar Rd, Tallmadge, OH 44278 with Rev. Steve Salyers officiating.

Private burial service at Crown Hill Cemetery.    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southeast Church of the Nazarene or Habitat for Humanity.
