Dominic Iacobucci, 81, passed away March 21, 2021. Born and raised on North Hill in Akron, Dominic lived in the Tallmadge area for most of his life.
A proud graduate of the University of Akron, he was a member of the Lone Star Fraternity and the ROTC. He served in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of captain. Following his service to our country, he joined Goodyear Aerospace then moving to the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company where he retired from in 1999 after 35 years of service. The notorious lover of desserts was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where he started the 200 Club with Dick Case, was a longtime volunteer for the rummage sale and was a member of Knights of Columbus #5613. Dominic coached many CYO, Little League softball and Tallmadge PeeWee football teams. His beautiful, giving heart led him to volunteer for many organizations most recently for Good Neighbors of Goodyear Heights. He was a devoted fan of the Indians, Browns, and Ohio State Buckeyes. Dominic, with his 10 green thumbs, loved his garden and was known for his delicious homegrown tomatoes.
Dominic had a wonderful sense of humor, was never at a loss for a perfect one liner and dished out a variety of “Domisms.” His most well known and frequently deployed Domism was “The only thing that’s constant is change.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luigi and Carmel Iacobucci.
His greatest love, though, was his family. Dominic is survived by his wife of 55 years, Florence “Flo”; daughters, Debbie (Joe) Franz of Lisle, IL, Sharon (Mike) Talarico of Pittsburgh, PA, Becki (Sam) Bosson of Lewis Center, OH; grandchildren, Lydia, Cara, Bailey, Anthony, Sarah, Dominic, and Gina; sister, Christine, (Dave) Hippely of Middlefield; brother, Richard (Nancy) Iacobucci of Beavercreek and Paul (Sue) Iacobucci of Macedonia.
