Frank Gironda, 60, was born on July 18, 1960 in Akron. Taken entirely too soon, Frank passed at home on January 4, 2021, surrounded by his heartbroken family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Vito and his sister, Anna Maria.
Frank is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Francesca (Frank) Whitaker and Jessacca (Kent) Cleveland; son, Joseph; grandchildren, Kaycee and Graham; best friend, Joe (Rhonda) Viscomi; mother, Maria; brother, Ralph; sisters in law, Marie and Debbie; brother in law, William and so many other family members, close friends and respected associates.
Blood makes you related but loyalty makes you family; a tough lesson learned during these difficult times.
Frank dedicated his life to those important to him. The love he felt for us was evident in all that he selflessly gave. Although not a man of many words, and more often a jokester, we all knew that Frank would do anything for anyone without ever having to be asked. He embraced being a grandpa and loved playing with his grandchildren. To say he merely “worked” at Vito Gironda Construction Company, the business began by his father in 1955 is a huge understatement. Frank loved construction and thrived on providing innovative methods to improve quality and performance. He was truly respected industry-wide for his vast knowledge, professional demeanor and steadfast work ethic. Quality could easily have been his middle name.
Frank also had a passion for restoring old cars, especially his 48 Chevy and his 40s Packard’s.
We will always love Frank Gironda - The Man, The Myth, The Legend and treasure his zest for life.
