Don Blankenship, 70, entered into eternal life on August 3, 2022.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 40 years, Marianne (Kaneas); brother, Douglas Blankenship, and sister, Deborah Blankenship.
Don is survived by his sons, Justin and Jordan; brother, David; sister-in law, Melanie Kaneas; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Mary Kaneas; nieces, nephews and friends.
Don was a graduate of Windham High School and attended Akron University and Kent State. He lived most of his life in Ohio and worked in several industries. He lived in Charlotte, NC where he worked in the nuclear power plant field prior to retiring and returning home to Ohio.
Don had a great mechanical aptitude and could fix/do almost anything. If Marianne could dream it, he would find a way to do it. He loved being outdoors and was very active in sports, especially running for which, he earned many awards over the years. He enjoyed working on cars and taking long rides on his Harley with his wife and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave, (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with Trisagion Service at 2:00 pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 p.m. at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 129 S Union St, Akron, with Fr. Nick Manuel officiating.
Interment will be at Mount Peace Cemetery, Akron, Ohio.
