G. Colleen Martin, 93, passed away May 19, 2023.
Born in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Colleen had lived most of her life in the Akron area. She was retired from the M. O’Neil Company at Chapel Hill. Colleen was the longest attending member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church. She was a member of Tallmadge PrimeTimers, volunteered for Tallmadge Good Neighbors, was a Girl Scout Leader and participated in many activities. Colleen loved gathering with family and friends, gardening, playing games/cards especially pinochle.
A special thank you to Pastors Barry French and Scott Low for their prayers and visits, also to our church family for numerous cards, calls and visits. Mom especially loved Janet Neubert’s visits and her delicious peanut butter fudge.
The entire staff of Western Reserve Hospice. Your care and compassion were beyond anything imaginable. It was definitely more than just a job. You’re a remarkable bunch. Thank you, Tina, for your leadership and care.
Last but not least, heartfelt thanks to Dr. Regina Dorman and staff and all the friends and family who helped throughout the many stages of her illness. She was down and out many times, but came back with strength, sense of humor and sharp wit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Martin Sr.; son, Roy Martin, Jr.; and brother Leslie Holbrook.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Diana Martin; niece, Cheryl Valdez; and nephew, Bob Dawkins.
