Ginette Wasson Obituary

Ginette Felicienne (Herbau) Wasson, 93, passed away February 2, 2020. She was born on May 6, 1926, in Vanves, a suburb of Paris, France to Henri and Emilienne Herbau. She lived in Paris until she came to the U.S.A. as a war bride in March 1946.

During the World War II and the German Occupation of France, she worked as a private secretary of the Director of Large Cie for about five years in Paris.

She met Warren H. Wasson, who was in the U.S. Army and stationed in Paris and they were married on September 1, 1945, by a U.S. Army Chaplain at the American Church of Paris.

Warren was sent back to the U.S.A. and discharged honorably with a Bronze Star and two special citations.  Ginette had to wait six months to come and join Warren. On March 14, 1946, Warren welcomed her in New York. He was employed by the Goodyear Tire Company of Akron.

Ginette taught French at the Berlitz School of Languages for about five years in Akron. Together they bought a house in Ellet in 1957 and lived there ever since. Ginette became a citizen of the U.S. on January 15, 1959.

Warren passed away on February 5, 2012, at the age of 90. They had no children but they have loving nephews and nieces in the U.S. and France. They enjoyed many trips to France and Florida, and enjoyed boating and taking care of their home.

They were married for 66 years and will be together again at Brimfield Cemetery, and forever with Jesus our Lord. Amen.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Andree.

Ginette is survived by her brother, Jean Herbau of France.
