Helen A. (Heiser) Colbert

Helen Colbert, 87, of Tallmadge passed October 15, 2021.  She was born on June 8, 1934 in Akron.

She will be best remembered for her unconditional love and for the fabulous cook/baker she was.  Helen knew no strangers.  She would talk to everyone and they all loved her.  She had a heart of gold.  Helen loved going to the casinos and playing the lottery.  (She'd always say that she was going to win big and pay off everyone's debt!)  Helen had a way of making everyone's life better.  She loved family and friends like no other.  Helen would cook/bake for everyone.  A few of the favorites would be her potato salad, pies, and peanut butter fudge!  Helen loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James "Jimmy"; sons, Rod (Kelly), Terry (Lori); daughter, Claudia (Dave) Hall; 10 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Russ (Linda) Heiser, John (Cindy) Heiser; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Dean, Jim Donovan, Gerald Colbert, Nancy Colbert, Laura Colbert, Tom (Betty) Colbert, and Donna Colbert.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Evelyn Heiser; son, Jon Colbert; two brothers, five sisters, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.

Calling hours will be 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Donovan Funeral Home (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home at 3 pm.  Join the family in celebration of Helen at the Tallmadge Community Center, 80 Community Rd., immediately following the service for a casual meal.
