J. Michael Johnson of Bath, Ohio, was born September 16, 1944 in Akron, and passed away on January 13.
He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1962. Mike was accepted in a Goodyear apprenticeship program as a machinist; he then enlisted in the Navy and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Upon his return, Mike graduated from California State Polytechnic, Pomona. Returning to Ohio, he earned certification in Industrial Arts from KSU. Mike taught mathematics and industrial arts at Maplewood Joint Vocation Center, Nordonia and Stow High Schools. Mike was known for his woodworking and specifically his clockmaking. He produced both the cases as well as the movements.
Mike leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife, Lyn; sisters, Fran (Dave) Becks, Linda Sabori; brother, Keith E. Johnson; his dear nieces and nephews, Jessie (Nick) Amorese, Kelly (Dante) D’Avello, Daniel Becks, Paul (Kathy) Becks, Meredith Johnson , Eric (Colleen) Johnson, Gabe (Julia) Galletta; and many great nieces and nephews.
