James P. Colbert

James P. Colbert, 89, left us peacefully to join his beloved wife, Helen on January 5, 2023. He was born September 15, 1933 in Akron.

Jim served in the U.S. Army and retired from the automobile industry.  He enjoyed fishing and the casinos.  Jim also loved going on long drives with Helen.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; son, Jon Colbert; parents, Otis and Geraldine Colbert; one sister, 2 brothers and one grandson.

James is survived by his sons, Rod (Kelly), Terry (Lori); daughter, Claudia (Dave) Hall; 9 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Betty), Gerald; sister, Donna Selock; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Per Jim's request, there will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Livestrong, 623 W. 38th St.  #300, Austin, TX 78705 or another charity of your choice,

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.

Join the family in celebration of Jim at the Northwest Ave. Church of Christ, 737 Northwest Ave., Tallmadge immediately following the calling hours for a casual meal.
