James Eugene Hobbel

James Eugene Hobbel, 88, passed away September 28, 2023. Born in Barberton, he lived most of his life in the Brimfield area. 

James proudly served in the U.S. Marines and retired from General Tire/ Michelin. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Colleen to Florida during the winter months as well as fishing and boating on Berlin Lake. James enjoyed gardening, time around the pool, watching Cleveland sports teams and listening to Jazz. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Inest Dagumas, William Hobbel and stepfather, James Dagumas. 

Left to cherish his memory are Colleen, his beloved wife of 69 years; children, James (Cynthia) Hobbel, Kathleen (Richard) Boggs, Duane Hobbel, Laura (John) Mastran, Kenneth (Karen) Hobbel; grandchildren, Erika, Dale, James, Miranda, Allison, Caitlin, Jesse, Brenna, Karlie; 12 great Grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild 

Private services were held at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
