James Patrick Horn (Jim), 69, of Tallmadge, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on April 28, 2021. He was born at St. Thomas Hospital on September 2, 1951, the third of six children, to Paul and Binnie Horn.
Jim was a proud member of the first graduating class of Walsh Jesuit High School, class of 1969, where he played football and baseball.
Jim was an avid sports fan. He knew more information about every sport than most people would ever care to know. His family even caught him watching curling once. If a sporting event was being played, you could rest assured that Jim was watching it or listening to it on the radio.
Besides his family and sports, Jim loved his furry companions, Eddie, Eli, Ollie, Mia and Gus. Jim also had a special place in his heart for volunteering at local food banks. He was a gentle soul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Horn; sister, Dianne Horn; and in-laws, Dick and June Perrine.
Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Katie Stokes Horn; son, Patrick James Horn (Jen); daughter, Emily Horn; and cherished grandson, Theodore James Horn. He is also survived by his brothers, Danny Horn (Julie), Mike Horn (Dee); sister, Debbie McConnaughey (Terry); sister-in-law, Darlene Horn; brother-in-law, Barry Stokes (Ellen); sisters-in-law, Patrice Harvey (Jeff), Shelley Francis (Bruce Provencher); nieces and nephews, Kelley Horn, Kim Kleves (Kurt), Chelsea Pozderac (Nathan), Courtney Ferguson (Jon), Cassady Dishman (Dean), Matthew McConnaughey, Michael Horn (Stephanie), Chris Horn, Jessica Pace (Will), Rich Stokes (Jennie), Geoff Stokes (Allison), Jenna Swain (Josh), Jason Francis (Kellie), Tabetha Hurd (Mark), Danielle Nunes (John), and as well as 18 great nieces and nephews (with two others on the way).
