Janeen Elizabeth (Lutz) Nicolino

Janeen Elizabeth Nicolino (nee Lutz), 70, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 7, 2023.

 She was born on August 25, 1952 in Bucyrus, Ohio and raised on a farm in Chatfield, Ohio.

Janeen was a member of the Buckeye Central High School class of 1970. She attended Bowling Green State University and received her Master’s degree from the University of Akron.  She taught more than 32 years in the Akron Public Schools, completing over half of those years at Ellet High School where she retired. Janeen was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Akron, Ohio.

She loved her family, her friends and her students.  She loved life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard W. and Dorothy Elizabeth (Fischer) Lutz; sister, Barbara Gallagher; nephew, Matthew Naska; brother-in-law, John Nicolino; parents-in-law, Anthony J. and Esther Nicolino.

Janeen is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Michael; her children, Christopher (Nikki) Nicolino and Ann Marie (Eric) Helmstedter; grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Nicolino and Eden, Anthony, and Aria Helmstedter; sisters, Karen Lutz, Sandra (Craig) Miller; sisters and brothers in law, Vincetta (John) Naska, Joseph (Theresa) Nicolino, Aileen Nicolino, Anthony (Denise) Nicolino, Daniel (Karen) Nicolino and Mark (Chris Buttenschon) Nicolino; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave, Akron with Rev. Michael Williamson officiating. Procession to form at the church.

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
