John R Pastore, 85, passed away on September 2, 2022. Born in Cairo, OH, he lived most of his life in Hartville.
John was a 1955 graduate of Hartville (present day Lake) High School. He was a lifelong member of Little Flower Roman Catholic parish. John was a founding partner of Hartville RV Center where he spent 50+ years of his career. John received his community’s Businessman of the Year Award in 1994. In 2016 John was recognized for his contributions to the community by receiving the Lake Township Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award, which had only been awarded to three other recipients.
John served on the Board of Directors of the Recreational Vehicle Dealers Association of America and received the prestigious Chairman’s Award for his contribution and dedication to the industry. John’s lighthearted personality, sense of humor, and generous spirit endeared him to everyone he met.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Nancy Pastore; parents, John and Anna Pastore; brother, Leonard Pastore; sister-in-law, Dolores Pastore; and nephew, Daniel Pastore.
John is survived by his sons, Jeff (Mary), Robert (Adele), Patrick (Julie), JJ (Sarah), and Ryan (Debra); grandchildren, Patrick, Katy, Sophia, Olivia, Caroline, Claire, Nolan, Lillian, Connor, Jackson, Jonah, Preston (Erin), Cameron, Taylor (Nick), Fletcher and great grandchild, Theodore.
Friends will be received at calling hours on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 from 5:30-7:00 pm at Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave, (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) and on Thursday, Sep 8, 2022 at 10 am at Little Flower Catholic Church 2040 Diamond St. NE Canton, OH 44721.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am celebrated by The Very Reverend Canon Christopher Henyk.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Canton.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Little Flower Catholic Parish Building Fund.
