Larry T. Benning

Larry T. Benning, 51, made his transition from earth to heaven peacefully on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Akron, OH.

A native of Orrville, Larry was born on July 24, 1969 to Larry Benning and Annie Lois Benning-Crook. Larry lived in Wooster, OH for most of his life, until residing in Tallmadge, OH where he remained until the time of his death. Larry accepted Christ at an early age, was a member of First Baptist Church, Orrville, OH. Larry later rededicated his life to Christ in June 2018. Larry also served in  the U.S. Navy from 1992-1994 Stationed in Norfolk, VA.

Larry was a graduate of Triway High School, class of 1988. While at Triway, Larry became an outstanding basketball player, who starred at Triway H.S. from 1984-1988, where he earned all-League as well as state honors in 1988. Larry  holds several records at Triway. Larry went on to play college ball on the Junior College level, at the University of Rio Grande and the University of Cincinnati. 

Larry, known for being a person of unique humor, there was never a dull moment in his presence. A person who loved to laugh, he was a person who loved life. He will be missed by those who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his mother, Annie Lois Crook; his children who were the apple of his eye, Lawrence Benning and Haylee Obney; sister, Carmeka Benning of Wooster; nephew, Trey Benning; as well as a host of relatives and friends who were all impacted by Larry’s life.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Les Howard officiating. 

The celebration will be live streamed on facebook at Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

Due to COVID-19 the family is asking that all in attendance please wear masks, and social distancing will be mandated.
