Lori Miller Obituary

Lori P. Miller, 68, passed away peacefully at home in Suffield on August 30, 2021. She lived most of her life in Suffield. Lori graduated from Field High School where she met John, her future husband and the love of her life. She later retired from Roadway Express after many years of service.

Lori is preceded in death by her mother, Jacqueline Pierson. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John; her father, Jerry Shanafelt  (Sue); daughter, Angela (Alex) Miller-Stoica, son, Nicholas (Crystal) Miller, brothers Jeffrey (Karen) Shanafelt, Rand Shanafelt; grandchildren Sofia, Violet, Emilie, Lilly, Mackenzie, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Lori was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and avid animal lover. She enjoyed her daily walks with her husband and adoring dog, Sam. Lori loved spending time outdoors planting flowers and decorating for the changing of the seasons. She also couldn’t get enough of her favorite programs: Hallmark movies and the Golden Girls. Lori cherished every opportunity she had to visit with her kids and grandkids who lived out of state. She lived life to the fullest and she remained positive and optimistic no matter what obstacles she faced.

Her kindness, selflessness, bubbly personality, and infectious smile were unmatched, and she was loved by all who crossed her path. Lori had a natural way of making everyone feel special, but she was our greatest gift.

A private memorial service will be held at a later data at the family’s convenience, with details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to  St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or via website https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
