Madelyn C. Grill, 95, passed away August 26, 2021. Born in 1926, she lived most of her life in Akron.
Madelyn retired as a hostess at Tangiers Restaurant after 25 years. She was a graduate of East High School and a member of Our Lady of Victory Church. After retiring, she became an avid painter and excellent artist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Michael and Mary Podrosky; daughters, Gloria Hull, Jo-Nell Martin; daughter in law, Sylvia Grill; brothers, John, Michael Podrasky; sisters, Helen Durgala, Wilma Watts, Mary Katherine Schafer.
Madelyn is survived by her sons, Richard B. (Jan) Grill and Thomas P. Grill ; daughters, Linda Brown, son in law, John Martin; grandchildren, John Martin, Erik (Daneen) Martin, Kelly (Brian) Cooper, Jamie (Heather) Grill; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ourladyofvictorychurchtallmadge/. Those who are unvaccinated or at risk are asked to please consider continuing to wear a face covering while in Church.
Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Victory Church.
