Marian Jeannette Schopper returned home to God on January 30, 2020. Born in Akron on July 8, 1932 to John and Alwane Parks, she was a lifelong area resident having lived in Tallmadge, Brimfield, and Munroe Falls.
A proud member of Tallmadge High School Class of 1950, Marian organized class reunions for many years. She was also a member of Tallmadge United Methodist Church.
Marian was a very creative lady, and through the years she used her talents in floral and interior design, watercolor painting, and card making; and she tied the best ribbons for the many gifts she gave to family and friends through the years. She was a lot of fun and made friends easily!
In 1953 she married the love of her life, the late attorney William Schopper. Through the years Marian was active and held offices in many organizations from Women’s Board to the Juvenile Court, Akron Bar Association Auxiliary, Betty Hall Circle at church, and Tallmadge Business and Professional Women.
Marian will be missed and remembered by beloved daughter Vicki Yambor (son-in-law Alex), devoted daughter-in-law Jane Schopper, cherished granddaughter Caitlin Gay (Eli), precious great-grandchildren Rebecca, Joseph, and Zachary, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Those who mourn her loss take great comfort in knowing she had an amazing heavenly welcome committee that included her husband Bill, son Bill, parents, brother Pete, and sisters Fran and Sarah along with many others.
Family would like to thank the staff of Mulberry Gardens Memory Care for their loving, attentive care the last two years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8th in the mausoleum chapel at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Cuyahoga Falls with Rev. Scott Low officiating. Kindhearted people may make a donation in lieu of flowers to Tallmadge United Methodist Church, 207 North Munroe Road, Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
Oh, beautiful flower of mine
Radiant all year long
All others you by far outshine
And for you the birds sing their song
With my undying love
Your leaves will always be green
And with the blessing and help from Him above
I’ll have a flower like the world has
Never before seen (6/6/53 – WFS)
