Marjorie “Marge” Ruth Bittinger died with her family by her side on March 31, 2024 in Palm Harbor, Florida at the age of 92.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Donald (Dick) Sr.; parents, Ruth and Carson Brewer; sister, Janet Rittenour; and her granddaughter, Nicole Crisp.
She is survived by her daughters Debra (Michael) Crisp, Mary (Mark) Burdette, and her best son, Donald (Donna) Bittinger, Jr. Her grandchildren are Andrea (Darren) Faye, Lindsay Miller, Noah Crisp, Michael Wesley Crisp, Jonathan (Valeria) Bittinger and Justin Bittinger. She also has 8 great-grandchildren: Leah, Hudson, Gianna, Cooper and Adalyn Faye: Matthew, Ryan and Harper Bittinger.
Marge lived most of her life in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from East High School and attended the University of Akron where she majored in mathematics. Early in her life, she worked at O’Neils and a bookkeeping/tax preparation company. She also did drafting at Goodyear. Her greatest passions were raising her children and supporting her husband in all his career endeavors. She was a kind, caring and loving mother who provided only her best for her family. She had many titles, depending on who you asked: Homemaker, Real Estate Agent, Master Seamstress, Fine Artist, Queen of the Craft Show. Above all, she was and always will be THE BEST MOTHER & matriarch of our family. She will be dearly missed every day.
Calling hours will be 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Donovan Funeral Home 17 Southwest Ave. (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Funeral service will follow visitation at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Case officiating.
Interment will be attended by family members on April 10, 2024 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Twinsburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
