Michael Varga

Michael Varga, 93, passed away January 15, 2022.  Born in Barberton, he lived most of his life in Tallmadge.

Michael loved his family dearly. He especially enjoyed family picnics, coffee with friends, gardening and tending his fruit trees, watching Notre Dame football, and reading about history, religion and politics. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victory Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He worked until retirement as an insurance salesman, and he served in the U.S. Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Varga; son, David Varga; brothers, Joseph and John Varga; sisters, Barbara Streifender, Margaret Kreptowski and Mary Toth.

Michael is survived by his wife of 53 ½ years, Bonnie; sons, Michael (Sabrina) Varga, Paul (Sheila) Varga; daughters, Susan (Steve) Samaco, Theresa (Rich) Muri, Mary Stupczy, Beth Varga, Katherine (Brandon) Anderson; sister, Elizabeth Robinson; grandchildren, Rachel, Joe, Sarah, David, Kyle, Craig, Keira, Marie, Anna, Leia, Erin, Kate, Alyssa, Zack, Emily, Mae, Riley; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Victory, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Our Lady of Victory’s Facebook page:

Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
