Nicholas de Lorme

Nicholas de Lorme, 28, of Hickory, North Carolina, went to heaven on July 23, 2022 after a brief but strong fight against cancer.  

Nick was born in Flint, Michigan on June 27, 1994. Nick graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University (OH) in 2015 and his JD and Sports Law Certificate from Marquette University Law School (WI) in 2018. Nick married the love of his life, Megan, while in the hospital in Hickory, North Carolina on June 3, 2022 as they had to cancel their planned wedding in Ohio on June 4, 2022.

Nick and Megan met while he lived in Cleveland and he worked as the Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance at Notre Dame College while she taught at Notre Dame Elementary School. Nick accepted a position as the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina in summer of 2021. Nick had a passion and a talent when it came to his successful career not only working at LR and NDC, but also working at University of Wisconsin-Madison, the NCAA, and more.

Nick was very much an “impact player” who would rise to a challenge and help anyone and everyone he could. He loved sports, hiking, Star Wars, reading, and was a whiskey and red wine connoisseur. One of the most important people in Nick’s life was his brother Chris. Chris was Nick’s hero and best friend. The bond and relationship they had was indescribable.

Nick is survived by his loving wife, Megan; mother, June de Lorme of Livonia, Michigan, father Anthony de Lorme of Westland, Michigan; and his brother, Christopher de Lorme of Livonia, Michigan.  

Calling hours will be 4pm until 7pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at The Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. in Tallmadge, OH. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).

Funeral services will be 11 am Friday, July 29, 2022 at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Case officiating.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery. Luncheon to follow.
