Nola Rae Smith, 97 of Edinburg passed on December 18, 2022. She was born August 31,1925 to Ocie and Doris Smith of Akron.
Nola and Cato owned and operated Smitty's Market in south Akron for over 60 Years. Nola was a member of the Brown Street Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Nola was preceded in death by husband, Cato; son-in-law, MC Haas; brothers, Dick (Barb) Smith and Roger Smith.
Nola is survived by brother, Larry (Lenore) Smith; sister-in-law, Janet Smith; son, Michael Smith; daughters, Billie Jo Haas, Cathy Ann (James) Peter and Janelle (William Pakan, M.D.) Pakan; grandchildren Sara Rae (Josh Taylor) Haas, Matt (Courtney) Peter, Mary Lee Peter, Laura Rose Peter D.O.(James) Gilchrist, Katie Anne Peter, Lauren Rae Pakan, Patrick (Haley) Pakan, Paul (Montse) Pakan; great grandchildren, Mason and Mckenzie Taylor-Haas, Blythe and Felicity Peter, Adam and David Gilchrist, Luca Pakan.
Per Nola's wishes there will be no services.
Internment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
