Patrick James Armstrong

Patrick James Armstrong, 73, passed away January 20, 2023. Born in Copley, Ohio, he moved and traveled the country a lot when he was a kid. His family finally settled in Akron, Ohio, where he lived for the rest of his life.

Patrick was a self-employed roofer for over 50 years. He owned his own business A&K roofing for many of those. He had every injury, ache and pain you could imagine but you would have never known it. He was still on the roof doing what he could at 70+ years of age. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taking long drives to nowhere whenever he got the chance. He was a great cook and loved to build things from refurbished wood and materials he found from his jobs. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He was as selfless as any person could ever be and had a passion for doing anything he could to help whoever needed it. Most of all his main goal was to do anything and everything to make his loving wife happy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Margaret Armstrong; sister, Julie; brothers, Dick. Jim, Joe, and Mike.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Connie of 51 glorious years; children, Brian (Anne) Armstrong, Melissa (Monta) Smith, and Scott (Marisa) Armstrong; grandchildren, Damontier, Dynasti, Autumn, Marquis, Cameron, Aiden, Vincent, Gino, Terrelle, Heaven, Nevaeh; great grandchildren, Jaiden and Zi’aire; sisters, Katie, Peggy, Susie; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. ( On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
