Paul John Spiegel, 71, passed away March 7, 2021.
Born in Akron, Paul had lived his entire life in the Akron area. He was employed with Mercury Logistics with 20 years of service.
Paul dedicated his life to his family. He had three rules. They are love God, live for your family and do what is right. His family will miss this powerful patriarch who was as loyal and loving as the day is long. After speaking with Paul for 5 minutes, you would realize that he was a gentle giant who had a heart of gold, and a deep understanding of how people should be treated and respected.
He was a very religious man who knew the Bible, inside and out. A writer, preacher, philosopher, historian, language pro (spoke 5: Greek, Hebrew, Latin, German & English), radio talk show host, transportation expert, piano player and Browns fan... he had lots of titles. His favorite title was Dad.
Paul loved his wife, his children and grandchildren with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Spiegel and brother, Frank Autz.
Paul is survived by his wife, Joy; daughters, Alisha (Jason) Pero of Cuyahoga Falls and Arianne Spiegel of Akron; sons, Gabe Spiegel of Parma and Channing (Lindsey) Spiegel of North Canton; grandchildren, Eli Spiegel, Claudia Spiegel, Natalie Phillips, Cadence Spiegel, and Alison Pero.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Private Funeral Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
