Richard A. Baker died January 6, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born in Akron, Ohio on June 30, 1935 to Jack and Enessa Baker.
He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1954. After graduation, he served in the US Marines for 2 years, serving in Okinawa and Japan. After his return, he married his high school sweetheart of 65 years, Donna (Taylor) Baker. They eventually moved to Tallmadge and raised their three children.
After 36 years of service with Ohio Bell, they retired to Norris Lake in Tennessee and spent 24 wonderful years. Enjoying time with family and friends, swimming, boating and fishing. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and help build many homes. He was a great craftsman and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed his time singing in the church choir. They moved back to Ohio in 2015. He was a member of Stow United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Donna; sons, Biff (Lynn), Michael (Kim); daughter, Kim (Scott); grandchildren Ashley (Adam), David (Christine), Jason, Taylor (Maggie), Emily, Allison, Tanner; five great grandchildren; sister, Shirley, sister-in-law, Kathleen; and many nieces and nephews
He will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle) with Rev. Karen Drotar officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
