Roberta R. Sikula, 75, passed away September 20, 2021.
Born in Akron, Roberta returned to Tallmadge in 1989. After a vast career in higher education, she ultimately retired in 2009 from her Alma Mater, Kent State University with 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Vera Rutan; sister, Joyce Rutan DiBona; and sister-in-law, Julia Finney.
Roberta is survived by her daughters, Michelle Sikula Cleary of Tallmadge; Nicole Sikula of Cookeville, TN; Danielle (Mario) Burns of Hendersonville, TN; son, Adam (Melissa) Sikula of Broadview Heights; grandchildren, Zachary Cleary, Brielle Cleary, Haydan Hornish, Hyde Hornish, and Nina Burns; sister, Barbara Roberts of Denver, CO; brothers, Ronald Finney of Akron and Robert (Ann) Rutan of Green; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her guardian angel, Presley.
Roberta received a Master of Education degree from the University of Toledo and started her career as a high school English teacher in the inner-city before ultimately moving to higher education where she served as University Registrar, among other administrative leadership positions, within the Indiana University, California State University, and Kent State University systems. Roberta loved people and energetic bodywork. She studied to become a Registered Polarity Practitioner in the state of Ohio and worked with clients for over 20 years, bringing healing to countless individuals.
Amidst a full career and vibrant work as a healing practitioner, Roberta was a devoted mother and grandmother, known for her quick smile, sense of humor and absolute love of Life.
