Early Thursday morning, April 7th, as her daughter sang to her, Vesta “Ruthie” Hoisington left her earthly home to join her husband Jim, in Heaven. The months preceding her death, her family made sure she had an unlimited supply of coffee, cream sticks, and her favorite Sunday meal, Greaty Grandma’s chicken pot pie.
Vesta was born July 14th, 1927. She referred to herself as the “Queen” of her family, who she loved more than anything in this world, and in return, they worshiped her in every way. She was loved and adored by all who knew her. She will forever be remembered as one of God’s faithful servants, doing so with her infectious laugh and smile, her back porch stories, and her charming stubbornness. Vesta lived her life for the Lord by serving the Kingdom through teaching bible studies, Sunday school, and spending her summers at Jim’s and her favorite place, Camp ECCO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, mother and father, Hannah and Frank Seeker, as well as three of her brothers Bud, Ed, and Donnie Seeker.
Vesta will forever be cherished and remembered by her “little” brother Piney (Galena) Seeker, many nieces and nephews, her five children; Michele Hoisington Stahl, Becky Jo (Jim) Brown, Jamie (John) Bell, Brad (Theresea), and Curt (Becky) Hoisington, Grandchildren; Rachel (Scott) Floyd, Mark (Lauren), Anna (Brittany) and her “baby” Ruthie Jo Stahl, Aaron (Jennifer) and Josh Brown, Shannon (Richard) Lewis, Pat (Alicia) and Hannah Bell, Karl Hoisington, Kelsey (Doug) Hoisington Smith, and Christopher, Sarah, and Stephanie Hoisington; Great grandchildren “her little ones” Wyatt, Harrison, and Marshall Stahl, Cameron Bell, Aleah and Linnie Hoisington, Seth and Drew Lewis, Layla, Amy, Lindsay, Mason and Max Brown; and her beloved lamb, Sharon Cross
The family invites all to join April 15th, calling hours will be from 12-2 with services to follow lead by Pastor Timothy Ream at Donovan Bagnoli Funeral Home, located at 339 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge.
