Obituary
Walter Johnston, 85, passed away July 24, 2023.
Born in Youngstown, Walter had lived in the Tallmadge area since 1965. He retired in 1992 from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 29 years of service. He read to the blind for 40 years with Goodwill Industries.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois and brother, John Johnston.
Walter is survived by his daughters, Teri (David) Darkow and Tami (Richard) Summers; son, Tim Johnston; grandchildren, Sam (Grace) Darkow, Sophia, Maggie and Will Summers, Caden (Elizabeth) Johnston; and brothers, Jerome (Ginny) Johnston and Robert (Sue) Johnston.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday August 3, 2023 at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave. (On the Historic Tallmadge Circle).
Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Friday August 4, 2023, Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave. with Rev. Michael Matusz officiating.
Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.
