Betty I (Kline) McCourtie

Betty I. McCourtie, 98, passed away February 8, 2016. Born in Akron, she lived most of her life in Tallmadge.

Painting, cooking and pie baking were her specialties. No one ever left her house hungry. Betty was a founding member of Northeast Garden Club and Northeast Neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; granddaughter, Dana.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Carol Scheck of Massillon, Marilyn (Buzz) Starner of Jackson Township, Patricia (Pete) Henze of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Jim (Janet) McCourtie of Tallmadge; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the Donovan Funeral Home, 17 Southwest Ave (on the Historic Tallmadge Circle)

Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Tallmadge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Mercy Hospice, 4369 Whipple Ave. NW, Canton Ohio, 44718, or a charity of your choice.
