A couple of months ago Kal called and asked if I could watch Katy for a little bit because she had class. I remember being nervous because I had never watched her by myself. Mostly I was nervous she wouldn't have as much fun as she had with Kal. I had some major competition. This past week I keep thinking about how thankful I am for that time I had with her. We read books and she started to fall asleep as we cuddled. Then we cheered because I knew for sure it would make her laugh and she did. I wish I could bottle up her laugh and smile and share it with everyone I know. I'm forever thankful to have known Katylynn and I'll forever and always carry a piece of her in my heart. Praying lots for you.

Kate, I could not imagine what you are going through at this time, but I do know how much your little girls mean to do you. Never having the chance to meet Katylynn just telling me how she and her sister were close together was really amazing. She must of been an amazing little girl, with an equally amazing Mother and sister. Our prayers are with you! Sending our love Drayke, Landon, and Betsey

Because you said it brings comfort- I will try to find words. Knowing Miss Katy and your family has been and will always be a blessing and a privilege. Her beauty (inside and out), her strength, her joy, her determination with grace far greater than her age and a zillion other amazements will continue to shine softly in my heart and mind. She taught me more than I can begin to say. She inspired me. I am a better
person because I knew Katylynn. She lit up our world wherever she was. She leaves us all with a magical sense of His goodness and light. She brought our families together - I am so grateful and blessed!

I was able to meet Katylynn as I was a substitute teacher both at Dunbar and Munroe. My granddaughter Kori was one of her lunch buddies for several years. Her joyous spirit and love of life was evident every day!

Katylynn was a beautiful, smart, happy, and fun little girl. Her smile would light up the room. People could not walk past her without saying anything to her. She was a joy to everyone. I had the opportunity to spend 3 years with her when she first came to school. I looked forward to work each day because of her. We learned together. She taught me where my heart belonged and she is the reason why I do what I do. She will always have a special place in my heart. Until we see each other again. We love you Katylynn

Teardrops are falling. We embrace this sad day.
A sweet little girl has just passed away.
So perfect her spirit, so perfect her love,
So perfect a gift from a Father above.
Our child, your family is grieving this day,
In our hearts God has told us why you couldn’t stay.
A spirit so special, so perfect, and pure,
should not have the trials of this life to endure.
You wanted a family, that’s why you came.
To be loved on earth, and given a name.
Then back to our Heavenly Father you went,
fulfilling the mission for which you were sent.
Although our grief is heavy this day,
we know you are happy, and not far away.
Loved ones have gathered close to your side.
Life is Eternal… you’ve really not died.
Know that we love you with all of our heart.
We’ll see you our dear one when this life we part.
Save us a place where we’ll be close to you,
and in joy we’ll embrace, as our love we renew.
