Welcome to the memorial page for

Amy Rae (Althauser) Roberts

August 13, 1970 ~ November 28, 2017 (age 47) 47 Years Old

Amy Rae (Althauser) Roberts, 47, was received into Heaven by her Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 28, 2017, with her family by her side.

Born August 13, 1970, in Akron, Ohio, Amy was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt, and friend.  She was a 1988 graduate of Mogadore High School. She met her future husband, Mike, on a blind date on January 4, 1993. Mike brought Amy a single pink rose and Amy knew that night that he was the person with whom she would spend the rest of her life. They wed on July 9, 1994, and for 23 years, she was the Queen of his heart and the Roberts’ home and in that precious time together, they were blessed to welcome their loving children, Johnny and Amanda, into their close-knit family

As a homemaker, gardening was one of her passions and people who knew Amy understood that the pink ribbon flags mixed in with the geraniums and lilies were displayed with the pride and determination of a long-time cancer survivor, and the grace Amy had in that role is how those who knew her will remember her: strong and caring, passionate and selfless, tough and beautiful, warrior and mom. She cherished the beauty of nature and the birds and in recent years, one of her biggest joys was walking her dogs, Romy, Tucker and Buddy, or playing with Calvin, her cat.  She treasured road tripping with her mom to QVC, watching her TV shows with Amanda, and frequenting Indians games with Johnny and Mike. Her love for the different seasons and holidays was displayed through all the decorations in her house. As a lunch lady for the past few years at Mogadore High School, she offered a friendly face and smiles to the students at midday. A longtime member of Harmony Baptist Church, Amy’s faith never wavered over ten years of hard-won battles with cancer.  Amy was known for all these things and more, but really, if you knew Amy it was likely through one of her acts of kindness, hallmarked by her beaming, bright, lovely smile. Amy shined, in so many ways.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved brother, Mark Althauser, aunts, Cathy Pearson and Diane Moore, uncle, Guy (Junior) Pearson; and cousin, Todd Moore. She leaves to cherish her memory, Mike, her loving husband of 23 years; children, Johnny and Amanda; parents, Sonny and Phyllis (Pearson) Althauser; brother, Mike (Gina) Althauser; sister-in-law, Kim (Rick) Emery; brother-in-law, Steve (Lili) Roberts; aunts and uncles, Jim Pearson, Gary Moore, Linda (Gary) Pickelsimer, Patty (Don) Cardis; cousins, Jeff Cardis, Greg Cardis,  Scott Cardis,  Lynn Miller ,  Carrie Gynn,  Jimmy Pearson, Joe Pearson, Jason Pearson, Dennie Pickelsimer,  April Stroup, Shay Pickelsimer, Kelly McDonald; nieces and nephews; Corinne, Mickey, Max, Charlie Althauser, Joey Giannattasio,  Chris and Sarah Roberts, and Joey, Lexie, and Matt Roberts.

The family offers a special thanks to Rev. Bernard Christy and Dr. Sue Meyer,  and the Mogadore community for the generous meals they have provided for the past several months. Amy would like to thank her long time friends, Erin, Leslie, Lisa, Kim and Kim, and her two “special soul sisters” Krista and Kristen, all for not simply being there, but for making the “there” special and memorable through friendship and love.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Stewart’s Caring Place, Cancer Wellness Center, 2955 West Market Street, Suite R, Akron, OH  44333; a place that was very close to Amy’s heart.
